There are two wires exiting from the REAR of the compressor. The switch is redundant as the fan comes on when the console ac switch is on anyway. The 4 cylinder doesn't have the same compressor and doesn't have this wire.
Fan running all the time COULD be caused by a bad high pressure switch on the AC compressor. Pull one at a time, if the fan stops, that's the bad switch. The compressor has to be replaced to fix the switch.
